Newsletter May 2017

Welcome to the latest update from NC TLC Trust, another step closer to the Summer months and lots going on at the charity office.

Janet Walker-Smith the Founder of the charity received some fantastic news last month from Ambivent, Mechanical & Electrical Services, they have announced that NC TLC Trust is the charity they have chosen to support again this year.

Steve Dudson, Eng Tech LCIBSE – Managing Director said “For me, the over-riding reason we wanted to have the NC TLC as our chosen charity again for 2017, was as a direct result of attending their Charity Ball in 2016. Normally, most people are sceptical as to the final recipient of charity funds. However, we spoke to some of the brave parents who had gone through the tragic loss of their child, who were eternally grateful for the full emotional, practical and financial support of the NC TLC. This proves with no doubt that our challenging fund raising efforts had gone to such a deserving cause.”

We also met up with Jim Ford, Chairman of the Northampton Eighty Lions Club and the board to share with them what our charity does and what it is we offer to our families, we were in a pool along with other charities and are pleased to announce that they have chosen to support us with various events that they will be holding this year, we will be posting and sharing these events as and when we receive more information.

We also have four riders for the London to Surrey 100, Gary Saville, Nicky Holden, Amanda Robinson and Martin Arissol. The run takes place in July, as soon as we have their fundraising page details we will share them on our website. Coming up in June is the Earls Barton Carnival which we hope to see you all at.

Tickets are also now on sale for our Annual Ball, please visit our ‘NEW’ website events page for ticket purchasing details. Limited number of tickets available so don’t delay, buy today.

The charity is into its 9th year and we would love to make this year or next year’s Fantasy Christmas Break extra special for the children by sending them off to Disneyland Paris, for the last 3 years we have taken them to Butlin’s which they have loved but now we want to go somewhere different.

We would like to start our monthly thank you’s by thanking another of the Nationwide Community Teams from NAC Direct Team Extravagant – Ross, Chris, Becky, Kerry, Jules, Alison, Holly and Chantelle, all giving their time to support a good clean up of our charity allotment, stockroom and office tidy. We managed to grab a picture of them in the Stock room during their huge mission.

Thank you Results Global for the brilliant £2053 raised, Glenn Nightingale from Ambivent and team for their donation of £125 after holding a team incentive scheme, Rosemary Pick and team from I.D.W.E.A who raised £100.

A great big thank you to the Car Shop in Northampton for raising £1736.69 so far with their Pink coin scheme, when customers buy a car they receive a Pink coin worth £1, they drop it in to support either their local cause box or a national cause. This total has been raised over several months but unfortunately the amounts have only just come to light, extending our thanks to Natasha Holland for your help.

Thank you to Horace Knight who brought in 2 of our donation tins that were supplied to him for donations taken by the Far Cotton Working Men’s Club and Loco Rail Club, they raised a fantastic £164.86 in memory of the late Daphne Knight. Forbells staff and customers raised £50.93 by putting their loose change into our donation pot that is in the shop. The Wederell Trust for donating £1000 in memory of the late Dr Chris Wederell.

Without all of you we would not be able to continue to support our families so again we say a huge

THANK YOU

We are appealing to anyone who may have some spare time that they could give to the charity by volunteering, we have various jobs that we need help with and can’t do it without your help.
