Another busy month for the local charity who support children going through or post cancer treatment along with their family. Janet Walker-Smith (founder) said, “The charity has had a busy time as our pace now increases for our busiest time of year, Christmas, with a toy appeal soon to be announced, and our fabulous Christmas Fantasy break that families have to look forward to thanks to BMW Wollaston. This month saw them back again for helping provide a much-needed coat of paint, thank you David and team,

A massive thank you to Nationwide as a further community day team returns to help in October, to Barclaycard for providing us with a further valuable resource team day to help us in November, we are so delighted for all the time these companies give their time to the charity! More surprises reached us as it was announced we had been chosen my the CarShop as their regionally based charity for 2016/2017, and Cummins from Daventry presented us with a cheque. The job we do would not be possible if it was not for all these wonderful and valuable supporters.” A massive thank you again to David Glover (Dealer Principle) and his staff at Wollaston BMW, for giving the Charity offices in Baron Avenue last month a wonderful fresh coat of paint. We announced last month that Barclaycard has announced they will be providing us with valuable resources and with thanks to Alasdair Milne, the Senior Manager, and his Implementation & Enablement team, they spoke to the charity’s new Event Coordinator, Rachel. The team will be undertaking a much-needed sort out of our store room, where items that we are able to reuse for certain events can be accessed, along with gifts that have been donated to the charity in the past can be sorted for this year’s gift distribution to every child in the charity. A further Community Day for November has been so gratefully received again from Manager James Cowlishaw of Nationwide. Nationwide whom year in year out supports the charity in this way, thank you James, we look forward to meeting you and your Team.
A massive surprise met the charity at the end of September, as the Charity Founder Janet Walker-Smith was contacted by the CarShop Northampton, Communications Manager Ben Scholes and Partner Marketing Manager Natasha Holland. They advised that the CarShop was about to announce it had chosen NCTLC under its programme to support local charities in Northampton.

programme – CarShop Cares – in a bid to raise much-needed funds for charities in the Northampton area.
The NC TLC Trust has been nominated as the independent local beneficiary by CarShop Northampton. NC TLC Trust is a Northamptonshire-based charity dedicated to helping children and their families who have been diagnosed with any form of cancer. They provide practical, emotional, psychological support, and also national signposting, and stay with them throughout their childhood. Support for both the national charity and the local charity will predominantly come from a £1 donation for every car sold, whereby
customers have the option to select their chosen charity in-store. We were delighted to receive a call from the Internationally based company Cummins, were Janet Walker-Smith was invited to their Daventry office to present the charity, after the presentation, they surprised her with a cheque for £1348. Cummins who are a global power leader, is a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service diesel and natural gas engines and related technologies, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems.
